From the Cape to the Kingdom: Kingdom Kids’ Easter Mission in the Northern Peninsula Area

“Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them.” Isaiah 42:10

In the April 2026 school holidays, Kingdom Kids Ministry travelled from Townsville to the Bamaga area in the Northern Peninsula Area of Cape York for a week of Easter ministry, family connection and prayer.

Founder Alice Woosup travelled with five of her children, joined by international evangelist Laurel Pabai from Brisbane. Together, they came to serve the local churches and families, celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, and take part in what God is doing among the communities at the tip of Australia.

It was a week filled with worship, prayer, encouragement, unexpected miracles and new friendships. More than a ministry trip, it felt like a full-circle moment, and another step in a vision that God began many years ago.

A friendship that began in Cairns

Alice and Laurel have been friends for more than 20 years. Their friendship began in 2005 at the Spirit Fellowship and Apostolic Church in Cairns, where the late Apostle Brian Lampton served as senior pastor.

During that season, Apostle Brian released Alice into full-time ministry and into six months of Discipleship Training School with YWAM. That encouragement helped shape Alice’s calling and the ministry that would eventually become Kingdom Kids.

Years later, Alice and Laurel found themselves serving together in the Northern Peninsula Area, alongside Alice’s children and local churches. The April trip carried the joy of seeing an old friendship become part of a new season of ministry.

God had been preparing hearts, relationships and opportunities long before the team arrived in Bamaga.

Easter in the NPA

The team participated in Children and Families Ministry throughout the week. Their time included prophetic worship workshops with women, prayer walks, prayer at the beaches, prayer with children, and participation in the local combined Easter services.

The combined services were a particular blessing. Churches came together across the area to worship, remember the death and resurrection of Jesus, and show the unity of the body of Christ.

The team was deeply encouraged to see pastors and ministries continuing to lead, serve and love their communities. In places where ministry requires sacrifice, consistency and perseverance, they saw people who were still hungry for God and committed to showing His love.

For Kingdom Kids, this is at the heart of the vision: not coming in to replace what is already happening, but walking with local churches, supporting families and strengthening what God is already building.

The Jesus Walk and a moment of breakthrough

On arrival, the team took part in the Jesus Walk through the main street of Bamaga. The walk re-enacted the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, with Laurel and Alice’s five children participating.

Mrs Harriett Phineasa and Sister Kathy Tabuai had a vision to do a Jesus walk — a re-enactment of someone carrying the cross — on the main street of Bamaga this year in April, and that’s what happened. Sister Harriett and Sister Kathy are passionate and looking forward to hosting a Jesus walk through the main street of Bamaga every year, starting next year, 2027. It would be powerful to see Jesus walking in all five communities up in the NPA, because we know we serve a God who is omnipresent and omnipotent. He covers the whole earth, so we know He covers all our communities.

One of the children in Alice’s care, a girl known lovingly as “Baby Miracles”, experienced a remarkable moment during the walk.

As an infant, she had suffered a head injury and required surgery. A medical report stated that she may not be able to function in many movements and could experience cognitive issues. Before the Jesus Walk, she had never walked more than approximately one metre by herself.

That day, wearing joggers for the first time, Baby Miracles walked more than ten metres independently. She walked freely and confidently, without support, directly behind the young man carrying the cross.

For those watching, it was a deeply moving testimony of the power of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. The moment was not about performance or attention. It was a child taking steps, and a family witnessing God’s goodness in a way they will never forget.

Children growing in faith and purpose

Throughout the trip, all five children went deeper with God in their personal devotion. They also allowed God to use them in outreach, speaking with local people and joining in prayer and intercession with the children in the communities.

They prayed alongside local children, including the grandchildren of Sister Kathy Tabuai. They learned that ministry is not limited by age. Children can hear from God, pray with faith, encourage others and carry the love of Jesus wherever they go.

The team travelled by bus through all 5 communities -Injinoo, Umagico, Bamaga, New Mapoon and Seisia, praying over each one, speaking the Word of God and prophesying what they believe God is doing in the nation of Australia.

This was a powerful expression of Kingdom Kids’ belief that children are not simply the future of the church. They are part of the body of Christ today, children of the King, chosen, called and created with purpose.

The vision: islands, bridge, wall and purple

Kingdom Kids Ministry was born from a vision God gave Alice in 2006 while she was in Vanuatu. That vision continues to shape the ministry’s heart and direction.

The islands

The islands represent the Pacific and the Torres Strait, places and people God has not overlooked. Isaiah calls the islands to sing, and Kingdom Kids believes they have an important part to play in God’s purposes.

The bridge

The bridge speaks of relationship and movement between the islands, remote communities and mainland Australia. It is not a one-way road. It is a pathway for people to walk together, learn from one another and share what God is doing.

The wall broken

The wall represents the barriers that have stood between people: distance, history, culture, cost and misunderstanding. In the vision, the wall was broken open. Kingdom Kids believes God is making a way for His people to move freely towards one another in unity.

The colour purple

Everything in the vision was purple. Purple speaks of royalty, identity and authority. It reminds us that every child belongs to the King and can know their identity in God and their purpose in His kingdom.

“Listen to me, you islands; hear this, you distant nations.” Isaiah 49:1

New friendships becoming family

During the April mission, God also deepened Kingdom Kids’ connections with Sister Kathy Tabuai and Mrs Harriett Phineasa.

What began as friendship has become a growing sense of family in God. These women share the same heart for souls to come to Jesus Christ and to be transformed through discipleship, encouragement and training.

Kingdom Kids is grateful for relationships built through trust, prayer, and a shared desire to serve local communities well. The ministry believes these connections will continue to grow throughout 2026 and into the future.

Looking ahead to September 2026

The April mission was not an ending. It was a beginning.

In September 2026, Kingdom Kids Ministry will be partnering with End Times Apostolic Ministry. Apostle Timothy Tamwoy will oversee, guide, mentor and encourage Kingdom Kids Ministry, its volunteers and the ministries partnering with the vision.

The September program will include discipleship, creative ministries, help teams and workshops, with a focus on supporting local churches and reaching children, young people and families.

The NPA Women’s Conference is planned for 19–21 September across Bamaga, Alau and Injinoo. The theme is Esther Arise: Identity in God and Purpose, with activities for women, young females and males, families and children.

It will be another opportunity to build the bridge, strengthening relationships between churches, communities and ministries, and making space for people to discover what God has placed inside them.

Heaven on earth in the NPA and beyond

Kingdom Kids Ministry Townsville is excited about what God is doing through the churches and communities of the NPA. The ministry is also thankful for international ministries in Fiji and Vanuatu that have already said yes to empowering, encouraging and walking with the body of Christ in Australia.

Together, we are believing for local churches to be supported through discipleship, creative ministry, help teams and practical workshops. We are believing for children and families to be encouraged, equipped and reminded of who they are in God.

And we are praying the words Jesus taught us to pray:

“Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” : Matthew 6:10

The journey from Townsville to the Cape is part of a much bigger story. It is a story of friendship, faith, unity and generations walking together. It is a story of islands connected by a bridge, walls being broken, and children discovering that they are royalty in the kingdom of God.

The work continues in September and beyond.
